Ray began her career at the age of 6, performing at church as a choir member.
Ray Renay states that, "This is where her musical foundation comes from. "
Minister Jones also invested in her career as a vocalist by placing her in vocal classes during her childhood alongside James Moore.
At 15, Ray Renay began entering shows at her high school. Ray says,"I found my love for R&B music and started singing with different bands in Memphis." People like DMP & Morris, the funk master; Snipes; MJG of 8 Ball and MJG. Ray began gaining more stage presence and knowledge on crowd engagement.
Ray Renay is also a songwriter and her first self-composed single is entitled, "Nobody But You" which is currently available on SoundCloud. She can be heard in songs such as "Better Days" and has been featured on MJG album called, "Too Pimpin".
Ray says," I'm so grateful to have an opportunity to work with Memphis Legends."
Ray's first video debut is on YouTube called, "Good Girl, Bad Girl". She has performed throughout the City of Memphis places such as Club Love, Hard Rock Cafe, BB King, Lavish, Rumble Room & more
Ray Renay has a new single currently streaming on all platforms entitled, "COLD". Ray says," I'm excited about this single and I've been doing this independently without a team and that's what motivates me to be the best I can be."
Ray Renay's latest project for 2020 & 2021 is collaborating with Underground Legend Skinny Pimp on his album. She also has other special things coming up like working on her first EP, which is scheduled for completion in 2021.
Ray Renay says, "I come from the struggle from the bottom up and I'm learning this business as I go and my life wasn't easy, I've been through things you couldn't imagine and that's my strength!
