William (Chilly Bill) Rankins ia a Singer, Songwriter, Actor Dj, & Producer, he is also an International entertainer. Early in life, he was an artist and a dancer. He had able to draw, paint, design and fabricate anything that he imagine in his mind. Whether it's with pencil,charcoal, pastel,clay, cloth, wire or just material that pops into my head. Mr Rankins have always been an athlete, he was great in all sports and game's. He started my singing career in Church and then into a singing group. Which was the pride of the neighborhood.
Chill Bill states, "We was really great."
The mentality of the Memphis music society, was so shady, it punched holes in our determination to succeed. The war in Vietnam came and the draft was going on. One of our singers was drafted, so we kind of went our separate ways. William joined the Army, and moved to Texas. William Rankins says,"I was Trusted with the Whole Recreation department of West Fort Hood.Where I Ran, until my Term was up."
William "Chilly Bill" Rankin says,
"I MOVE TO AUSTIN TEXAS AND STARTED WRITING AND SINGING IN THE STUDIO WITH DIFFERENT ARTISTS.WHILE ATTENDING COLLEGE. THEN I BECAME THE FIRST BLACK PERSON TO DO KARAOKE. I MOVE BACK TO MEMPHIS AND BECAME THE FIRST BLACK PERSON TO DO KARAOKE. I STARTED TRAINING DJ'S ,SO I COULD EXPAND MY BUSINESS. ALSO RECORDING SONGS WITH LOTS OF ARTISTS. I BECAME THE HOOK MASTER.I STARTED UP SO MANY CLUBS THAT I WAS WELL KNOWN ALL OVER MEMPHIS. KNOWN AS THE HARDEST WORKING MAN IN THE BUSINESS. I STARTED SINGING WITH ONE OF MY BROTHER'S ,FROM MY OLD GROUP AND WE WOULD WIN ALL THE SINGING TALENT SHOWS IN TOWN. I STARTED SINGING WITH MY PERSONAL FRIENDS WHO NEEDED ME SUCH AS LEGENDARY MS TONI GREEN."
William has done alot of TV shows and events with Ms. Toni Green. IHe was invited to sing in Italy, at the Porretta Soul Festival. Later, Me Rankins was asked to join the Legendary Group, "The Mad Lads" from Stax Records.
They have done several major events until he decided to firm his own band. William continued to perform at music festivals for his friends like "The Helen Keller Festival"in Alabama.
Mr. Rankins says,"I HAVE BEEN ENTERTAINING AS LONG AS I CAN REMEMBER. I'VE ALWAYS HAD RECORDING EQUIPMENT. EXPERIMENTING WITH SOUND.
I PURCHASED A RECORDING STUDIO AND STARTED MY OWN LABEL. THE CHILL FACTOR."
Chilly Bill says,"I am now trying to get into promotions and I am currently in demand, from movies,, music videos and is in production for my latest music video.
