Groomed early by their multi-talented mother and family to become the accomplished musicians they are today. Andre got his professional start in the music industry right out of high school. He became a staff writer for Solar Records at the age of 17 under the mentorship of the late great CEO and Founder of Solar Records Mr. Dick Griffey. While with Solar records, Andre wrote lyrics for artists such as The Whispers, Shalamar, and Carrie Lucas whom recorded vocals on Andre song "Questions" which went on to become a huge hit for the company.

In 1980, The Grammy Nominated Musician Andre Ray was approached by Henry Davis the bass player of the world renounce R&B band LTD. Henry Davis heard Andre performing at a black radio exclusive concert in Hollywood. Mr. Davis was impressed by Ray's musical skills as a vocalist and Keyboardist. He asked Andre to audition for the group to replace Jeffrey Osborne as lead singer as he left the band to embark on his solo career.

While with LTD, Andre Ray recorded as Lead vocalist and wrote the lyrics on three albums for LTD. The first was the Love Magic Album which featured the iconic hit ballad "April Love" featuring Andre Ray's smooth romantic vocals. The next two albums to follow was "For You" on the Montage Record Label, where Jerry Heller of the NWA Fame was Ray's personal manager. The last album Mr. Ray recorded with LTD is called "Bringing It Home" on LTDs Independent label.

Since that time, Ray has been featured in several hit stage plays and has produced numerous concerts at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena and Performed the "National Anthem" at the LA Sparks Basketball Game at the Staple Center.

Andre Ray is also one of the voices for KJLH 102.3 Radio Station in Inglewood CA.

April 2013, Andre Ray was the First Old School recording artist that teamed up with Musical Producer and Healthcare Professional Dr.

Robert L. Jamison, the founder of Rjai's Productions and Five Stars Music Group.

On Mother's Day 2013, Andre Ray group LTD Forever was the Headliner on Rjai's Productions, "Together Forever Inspirational Cancer Musical". It eventually became the "Oldies Soldies Love Jam Tour" now that more legendary recording artists has joined the Rjai's Production and 5 Stars Music Group Roster.

The Inspirational Musical Tour is bigger and better, celebrating seven years of supporting the American Cancer Society and St. Jude Childhood Cancer research program.

Dr. Jamison states how he became inspired to create these extraordinary fund raisers. He says,“ I was at my mother's grave-site one Sunday afternoon and I was thinking to myself." "I thought, I’ve been living in Memphis all of my life and I have never done anything on this level. But, as a Healthcare Professional, I have to create a program that could raise awareness for preventive care and to stop cancer in its tracks! But then I thought, Why not do something for the City of Los Angeles to benefit the local communities as well?!"

"So in February, I had the opportunity to meet Andre Ray at my first cancer event Downtown Skid Row. Andre gave us the time to meet with him and we discussed the "Together Forever Cancer Musical Tour" an event that would educate the community about Cancer Prevention. We gave out cancer gifts bags with basic information about several types of cancer including Breast Cancer."
