Updated: Mar 4, 2020

On Tuesday, February 25, 2020 – BET Networks, (a subsidiary of ViacomCBS Inc., NASDAQ: VIACA, VIAC), the nation's leading provider of quality content for African-American audiences, announced today that Staci Hallmon has been promoted to Senior Vice President and General Manager, Live Events, BET Experience, effective immediately. Hallmon will lead strategy, operations, P&L management, sponsorship development, and activation, as well as management of key BET Live vendor and partner relationships. She will report to Kimberly Paige, Chief Marketing Officer of BET Networks.

As SVP and GM of Live Events, Hallmon will be responsible for creating deep brand value and defining our strategic approach to increase visibility and engagement of BET Live Events, business and platforms. In this new role, Hallmon will continue to build BET Experience as the preeminent intersection of Black culture and entertainment through the lens of millennial and Gen Z audiences. Hallmon will also leverage BET’s 40th anniversary as well as the 20th anniversary of the BET Awards to introduce new live experiences that celebrate the voice, presence and passions of this highly aspirational audience. “This leadership appointment is a testament to BET’s investment in high touch consumer engagement, including and beyond our content,” said Kimberly Paige, Chief Marketing Officer, BET Networks. “Staci’s acute awareness of the experience landscape, combined with her proven track record of scaling world-class events position her to drive the growth of BET’s brand through our Live IP.”

In her prior role as Senior Vice President of Ad Sales for BET Her, Hallmon led efforts to position BET Her for audience and revenue growth through the strategic development of an expanded ecosystem of assets and programs. Under her leadership, the BET Her brand launched the highly successful “About Her Business” docuseries, which highlights the challenges and successes of Black female entrepreneurs and is set to return later this year with an accompanying Women’s Business Conference.

Before joining BET Networks, Hallmon held positions of increasing responsibility with Time Inc., where she most recently served as Vice President and Director of Brand Sales for ESSENCE, responsible for transforming the Essence Festival from a weekend event into the influential, omni-channeled business and cultural experience it is today. As a founding partner of Ferocious Unicorn, Hallmon has led a team of brand builders specializing in 360 engagement platforms to leverage the influence of cultural movements and celebrity to create win-win experiences between brands, content creators, talent and consumers. In her almost 20-year-long career, Hallmon has been a critical partner for countless brands, including Fortune 500 companies such as Walmart, Coca-Cola, Disney, and Verizon and currently serves on the Advisory Board for IEG’s Annual Sponsorship Conference, where she helps shape and define the content for the world’s leading conference on sponsorship

“I am truly excited about this role as it connects with my purpose to cultivate people, culture and brands,” said Hallmon. “BET’s dedication to expanding the offerings to our audience on every platform is paramount to our work here, and I am thrilled to operationalize our efforts to curate experiences that unapologetically validate our culture through innovative touchpoints.”
